It is reported that the Prophet (peace and blessings of Allaah be upon him) said:
“If one of you lies on your back, do not put one of your legs over the other!”
This hadith was narrated by at-Tirmidhi 2766 from the words of al-Bara ibn ‘Azib; Ahmad 3/299 from the words of Jabir and al-Bazzar 4685 from the words of Ibn ‘Abbas.
