«إذا أتاكم كريم قوم فأكرموه» . (حسن) … [هـ] عن ابن عمر [البزار ابن خزيمة طب عد هب] عن جرير [البزار] عن أبي هريرة [عد] عن معاذ وأبي قتادة [ك] عن جابر [طب] عن ابن عباس وعبد الله بن ضمرة1 [ابن عساكر] عن أنس وعدي بن حاتم [الدولابي في الكنى ابن عساكر] عن أبي راشد عبد الرحمن بن عبد بلفظ: [شريف قومه] . الروض 268, الصحيحة 1205.
It was narrated from Ibn Umar that the Messenger of Allahﷺ said: “If there comes to you a man who is respected among his own people, then honor him.”
This hadith was narrated by Ibn Majah 3712 from the words of Ibn ‘Umar; al-Bazzar 5846, Ibn Khuzaimah, at-Tabarani in Mu’jam al-Kabir, Ibn ‘Adi in al-Kamil 2/397 and al-Bayhaqi 16463 from the words of Jarir; al-Bazzar from the words of Abu Hurayra 8027; Ibn ‘Adi in al-Kamil from the words of Mu’az 4/210 and Abu Qatada 1/177; al-Hakim from the words of Jabir 7791; at-Tabarani from the words of Ibn ‘Abbas 11811 and’ Abdullah ibn Damr; Ibn ‘Asakir from the words of Anas and’ Adi ibn Hatim; ad-Dulyabi in “al-Kuna” and Ibn ‘Asakir from the words of Abu Rashid’ Abdu-r-Rahman ibn ‘Abda with the text “… a noble of (any) people.”
Sheikh al-Albani called the hadith good. See Sahih al-jami ‘as-saghir 269, ar-Raud 268, al-Silsilah al-sahiha 1205.
Imam al-Munawi said: “If noble people come to you” – that is, their leaders, to whom (people) obey, known among them for their nobility and honor. See Faidul-Qadir 1/241.
This is the justification for Saudi Arabia honoring US Presidents like Donald Trump, Obama.. and others with the Order of King Abdul Aziz (a medal ceremony).
In actuality, It is the real implementation of the Sunnah unlike Khawarij who are ready to attack Bilad at Tawheed and its establishers. And in the sunnah is also giving gifts to foreign delegates. See Saheeh Al-Jami ‘As-Saghir Hadith No. 231
