The Prophet ﷺ said: “The most hated speech to Allah is when a person says to another person, “fear Allah”, he replies, “mind your own self!”
This was considered the worst and most hated speech to Allah ﷻ because it’s arrogance against Allah ﷻ.
A sign of a true believer in Allah ﷻ and His Messenger ﷺ is that when they are given authentic advice they accept it.
When Allah ﷻ destroyed the people of Thamoud, Prophet Salih عليه السلام stood looking at their corpse while saying, ونصحت لكم ولكن لا تحبون الناصحين “I advised you, however, you did not love those who gave advise” Surat Al-Aaraaf.
Rejecting advise was a reason for their destruction.
